Health Care High School Internship Program

Information for Students Who Attend School in Buena Vista County

Summer Health Care Internship Program

This program brings students and health care together, providing students experience in a health care environment and BVRMC the opportunity to meet future health care professionals. Students will be at BVRMC for one week (30–40 hours) between June 3 and August 9. After completion of the program, interns will receive a $250 scholarship.

Student Experience

As part of their internship experience, students will rotate through various departments. This will provide an opportunity for students to explore different fields and test drive their careers.

Areas of Career Exploration

  • Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Technologist
  • Paramedic or Emergency Medical Technician
  • Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician
  • Physical/Occupational Therapist or Physical Therapy Assistant
  • Radiologic Technologist
  • Registered Nurse
  • Respiratory Therapist

Eligibility

Eligible students must have completed their junior year of high school.
