Buena Vista Regional Medical Center welcomes Briana Foulk, CRNA, who will work in the Surgical Services Department. CRNA’s are Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, an advanced practice registered nurse who administers anesthesia and other medications. She received her Bachelors of Nursing at Bryan Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska, and Doctorate of Nursing Practice and CRNA at Clarkson College in Omaha, Nebraska.

Foulk has practiced nursing in a variety of settings. She states, “After nursing school, I traveled all around the United States as a traveling intensive care unit nurse eventually settling for four years on the west coast as a cardiac flight nurse.”

She eventually became interested in pursuing a career as a CRNA. “After meeting many brilliant CRNA providers throughout my nursing career, I thought this role would be a great fit for my personality,” she explains.

During CRNA schooling, Foulk did a rotation at BVRMC. “I had a wonderful residency experience in Storm Lake as a CRNA student where I got to meet the hospital staff and patients from the community,” she states. “I love how diverse Storm Lake is and the opportunities I was given to learn. Ultimately, it was the team at BVRMC that convinced me to come back and work here.”

Foulk grew up in Chadron, Nebraska. She played college softball and continues to enjoy competitive sports, being with her dog and gardening.
