BIOGRAPHY:

Leslie Allison Kebschull has lived in Storm Lake for almost 3 years with her husband, Pastor Dave Kebschull of St Mark’s Lutheran.

She was born in Charles City and grew up in Cedar Rapids, graduating from Linn-Mar High School in 1977. She always had a love of art throughout her youth.

Leslie graduated from Truman State University with a B.A. in English and from University of Wisconsin-Superior with an M.A. in Studio Art.

Leslie’s influences in art stem from past and current artists many of whom has inspired her work. She has especially been influenced by artists such as Helen Frankenthaler, Hans Hoffmann, Theodoros Stamos, Franz Marc, Robert Rauschenberg and many more.

Most of her work stems from the colorful world around her, trying to see with a unique perspective and allowing her heart to guide her brush and palate knife. She loves whimsy and play in both others’ art and her own and tries to find joy and humor in the world around her.

Leslie and Dave have three daughters; Lauren, Whittney, and Micah who also are talented artists in their own unique ways.

She also enjoys photography and knitting mostly baby blankets for the newborns at the hospital.

She has published a children’s book called, “I See Something. What Do You See?”, which utilized her photography and love for writing as well.

Leslie continues to search for novel ways to create and expand her love of art and writing and hopes to create more in the future.
