A new ambulance is now in service at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center (BVRMC) thanks to a significant collaborative effort between the Taylor Family Farms Foundation and generous contributors to the Buena Vista Regional Healthcare Foundation.

The ambulance was made possible through a cornerstone $100,000 gift from the Taylor Family Farms Foundation, along with additional funds raised through Buena Vista Regional Healthcare Foundation’s annual golf event.

“This ambulance helps our ability to provide fast, efficient emergency response services,” said Katie Schwint, BVRMC Executive Director of Community Development. “We are deeply grateful not only to the Taylor Family Farms Foundation for their extraordinary generosity but also to the many individuals and businesses whose ongoing support makes this kind of investment in rural health care possible. Emergency services are a critical lifeline in our region, and this united effort reflects a shared commitment to the safety and well-being of our communities.”

BVRMC operates five ambulances in Storm Lake, Sioux Rapids and Albert City. Collectively, these ambulances covered more than 70,000 miles and completed 1,048 ambulance runs in the last fiscal year alone, underscoring the essential role emergency response plays in rural health care delivery.

Founded by Glen Taylor in 2023, the Taylor Family Farms Foundation is dedicated to uplifting rural communities in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa through strategic philanthropic support.

“The good people of this region have been crucial to my personal growth and success of my businesses,” said Taylor. “It brings me such joy to be in a position where I can give back some of what I have received.”

While Glen Taylor is perhaps best known as the namesake of Taylor Corporation and the majority owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx professional sports teams, he has long supported causes centered on childhood education, rural revitalization, environmental stewardship, and family well-being.
