The Buena Vista Regional Healthcare Foundation held a Life Saver Reception on April 8 to thank donors and highlight life-saving equipment purchased through the Foundation’s annual Life Saver Campaign.
Donors to this year’s Life Saver Campaign helped fund the purchase of a new Blood Analyzer for Buena Vista Regional Medical Center’s Laboratory. This essential equipment supports blood testing that providers rely on for patient care across the hospital.
While many patients may never see the laboratory, nearly every patient depends on it. From the emergency room to obstetrics to oncology, lab results guide important medical decisions every day and help care teams provide safe, effective treatment.
Over the years, the Life Saver Campaign has helped purchase equipment for various departments. Donations are used to support the hospital, helping to provide even greater care for our community. Previous campaign purchases included AEDs and other life-saving equipment for ambulances; an innovative endoscopy system to provide a clearer view during gastrointestinal procedures; ambulance cots, stair chairs and power lifts to reduce staff injuries; interactive equipment for Rehab Services to assist stroke patients and help prevent falls; and a pulmonary function test machine to support patients with breathing difficulties.
