The BVRMC Young at Heart annual trip took 36 participants and staff members on a chartered bus ride to Templeton and Elk Horn on July 15.
The main attractions of the day included a tour and tasting at the Templeton Distillery and a visit to The Mill, the only authentic working Dutch windmill in the United States. Participants also enjoyed lunch at The Norse Horse Tavern, a Viking-inspired bar and grill, and Dutch treats from The Kringle Man Bakery.
Young at Heart, a health information club, is a free service from Buena Vista Regional Medical Center for anyone 55 years of age and older with a focus on education, motivation and wellness. Monthly educational videos via Facebook and an annual bus trip provides an opportunity to connect with others while staying informed.
