This observation-only experience provides high school juniors and seniors with an opportunity to learn about the daily tasks, routines, and responsibilities of health care professionals. Students can gain awareness of the skills required for a specific career, learn about educational requirements, and experience the health care culture.

Participants may complete up to 10 hours of Career Exploration.

Career observation is available to college-level students who are required to have a shadow experience either as part of their curriculum or as part of their application to a health care related academic program.

Buena Vista Regional Medical Center (BVRMC) provides internship opportunities for post-secondary students. Unpaid internships are considered for students who are currently enrolled in a class requiring an internship and who are pursuing a degree/certification for a profession.

Buena Vista Regional Medical Center provides clinical internships/preceptorships, as well as clinical rotations to assist in establishing and maintaining our health care workforce. Students must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and an affiliation agreement must be established between BVRMC and the college/university.
