Thoughts from a BVRMC Volunteer…
I have always thought that one of the prime benefits was that you became comfortable in the hospital surroundings, and got to know the people there. Come the time you had to be there to USE the hospital, you were more comfortable and less afraid of the institution because it was familiar!
Buena Vista Regional Medical Center volunteers can be found throughout the hospital and community performing a variety of duties.
Volunteers are trained yearly and are required to fulfill confidentiality and health requirements prior to becoming a part of our team.
Coffee Shop / Café Latte
Volunteers serve one morning or afternoon shift per month with or without a partner. Shifts are 8:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Monday through Friday. Afternoon Coffee Cart volunteers take an Auxiliary sponsored Hospitality Cart to second floor to patients and their visitors 2:30 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.
Volunteers usually work one morning or afternoon shift per month. 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. or 12:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Gift Shop

Volunteers greet patients and visitors and they direct them to appropriate areas. One half day, once per month. 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Volunteers set up and take down Christmas decorations throughout the hospital.
Meet two times during Christmas season.
Volunteers assist LifeServe Siouxland Regional Blood Bank with donor reminder phone calls.
Jewelry Fair and other Auxiliary Fundraisers
