Paid Time Off (PTO)
General Description
Accrue up to 21 days the first year of service (based on 40 hours per week). Additional days added based on years of service. PTO can be used after 90 days of employment.

Available for regular full-time and regular part-time employees.
PTO Transfer
General Description
Transfer of PTO between employees. For use in emergency situations.
Eligibility
Available for all regular full time and regular part time employees.
Personal Leave
General Description
Unpaid leave of absence.
Eligibility
All Employees after one year of employment.
Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
General Description
Up to 12 weeks unpaid leave within any 12 month period for an employee’s own serious health condition; child, spouse or parent’s serious health condition; or the birth, adoption or placement of child for foster care.
Eligibility
Employed by BVRMC at least 1 year and has worked 1250 hours during 12 months prior to the requested leave.
Compassionate Leave
General Description
Up to 24 hours with pay for death in employee’s immediate family-family of origin, in-laws, grandparents, etc.- after 90 days of employment.
Eligibility
Regular full-time employees.
Compassionate Leave
General Description
Up to 8 hours with pay (same requirements as above).
Eligibility
Regular part-time employees.
Jury Duty
General Description
Employee receives wages for regular scheduled worked hours. In turn, employee turns in payment received for jury duty, excluding mileage, to payroll.

Military Leave
General Description
Up to 30 calendar days with pay a year for employees required to attend military summer camp or special training after 90 days of employment.
