BVRMC’s AWARE Provides Gift to Patients Fighting Cancer

Holiday gifts from BVRMC’s AWARE committee were given to patients fighting cancer this December. Phil Meyer, a patient fighting cancer and receiving treatments in BVRMC’s Oncology & Infusion Center, expressed his appreciation.

Meyer has been grateful to BVRMC’s staff and the AWARE committee throughout his battle with cancer. For the past four years, he has received a holiday gift from AWARE.

“We want our patients to know that BVRMC and the surrounding community cares about them and supports them throughout their journey,” says BVRMC social worker Zena Olerich. “Holiday presents from the AWARE committee are just one of the ways we are able to spread cheer to our patients.”

BVRMC’s AWARE helps purchase items not covered by insurance, such as hats, grocery cards, and comfort items for patients fighting cancer at BVRMC. Funds are raised from community donations, helping to make a difference in patients’ lives.
