Patients Appreciate Items Given through A.W.A.R.E. at BVRMC

BVRMC’s social worker Zena Olerich presents Sally Brecher and Juan Nunez with holiday presents from the AWARE committee. They are both fighting cancer and receiving treatments in the Oncology & Infusion Center.

“The first day of treatment was very hard and Zena had me laughing trying on hats and making me feel better. The care at BVRMC has been wonderful,” says Sally. “I was extremely nervous when I started in the Oncology & Infusion Center, but the staff explicitly explains everything from an orientation folder to classes. I am truly humbled.”

“The BVRMC nurses and team help me feel good and comfortable during my treatments. The staff and AWARE items are very nice,” says Juan.

BVRMC’s AWARE helps purchase items not covered by insurance (such as hats, grocery cards, and comfort items) for patients fighting cancer at BVRMC.
