Patient and Visitor Restrictions at BVRMC

Diane Porter | March 13th, 2020

Buena Vista Regional Medical Center has placed immediate restrictions on visitations for the health and safety of everyone due to the severity of flu and concerns of the 2019 novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

While no Coronavirus cases have been reported in Buena Vista County, BVRMC would like to take proactive measures to keep both patients and staff safe.

  • Upon entering the facility, people will need to answer screening questions regarding travel and current health.
  • There will be a limit of two visitors per patient at any given time.
  • No visitors under the age of 18 are allowed, unless special arrangements have been made with BVRMC staff, such as hospice patients.

The above rules also apply to anyone accompanying someone on an outpatient appointment such as oncology, rehab, diagnostic imaging, or surgery.

The Café/Latte and Auxiliary Gift Shop is closed until further notice. Groups are also asked to not come to the Bistro for social gatherings, unless here for a hospital appointment.

“I want to make it clear we’re not aware of any patients with Coronavirus, but BVRMC believes we should be proactive as possible,” says CEO Rob Colerick.

Call ahead of any hospital appointment if you have any of the following symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, nausea or diarrhea.

These restrictions will be in place until further notice.  Everyone at BVRMC appreciates your understanding and cooperation.
