Buena Vista Regional Medical Center and Buena Vista Anesthesia Associates welcomes Jeremy Jensen, who recently moved to Storm Lake as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).

CRNAs work in BVRMC’s Surgical Services Department providing anesthesia services to surgical patients.

“I love being a nurse anesthetist,” says Jeremy, “I am provided the privilege of meeting many new people every day and tasked with the responsibility of keeping them safe and comfortable during operations or uncomfortable procedures.”

Jeremy grew up on a family farm near Fenton, Iowa, and is the youngest of seven children. He attended Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg for his Associates Degree in Nursing and the University of Iowa for his Bachelors of Science in Nursing Degree. He worked as a nurse for almost nine years before obtaining his Master’s Degree in Nurse Anesthesia from Clarkson College.

Jeremy has a passion for serving patients and living and working in a rural setting.

“I was fortunate enough to have a two month clinical rotation at BVRMC when I was in anesthesia school and absolutely loved it,” says Jeremy. “I loved the hospital, the anesthesia staff, the hospital staff, and the small town atmosphere. A position came available with Buena Vista Anesthesia Associates and I jumped at the opportunity.”

Jeremy looks forward to living and working in Storm Lake. “Moving back to Northwest Iowa feels like home to me,” states Jeremy. “BVRMC and the Storm Lake community have been very courteous and friendly since the moment I arrived. I am very thankful for this opportunity to serve the people of this community and look forward to what the future brings.”

When Jeremy isn’t in the operating room, you can find him in a duck marsh with his dog, Trigger, or out on the lake catching walleyes with his dad.
