Buena Vista Regional Medical Center’s Physical Therapist Assistant, Russ Chrischilles completed the American Physical Therapy Association’s (APTA) Certificate in Aquatic Physical Therapy Clinical Competency (APTCC).  Russ recently completed the national APTA aquatic course in Kansas City and fulfilled 7 e-learning online modules in order to reach the APTCC certification. Russ is the first therapist in this region who has completed the APTA’s aquatic certification.

Russ Chrischilles, PTA, BA, is recognized for his evidence-based understanding of critical thinking, applications, and abilities of treating patients in the aquatic setting. This course advances a therapist’s knowledge in the properties of water and how they apply to specific patient body types as well as how they affect the body systems. Russ will celebrate his 15th year this coming February as a physical therapist assistant at BVRMC.

BVRMC has had aquatic therapy on site since September of 2005. BVRMC takes pride in their aquatic therapy by helping individuals with sports related injuries, low back pain, fibromyalgia, stroke, joint replacement, ankle injuries, and various forms of arthritis.
