Buena Vista Regional Medical Center has been awarded a 2018 Top Workplaces honor by The Des Moines Register. The list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by research partner Energage, LLC (formerly WorkplaceDynamics), a leading provider of technology-based employee engagement tools. The anonymous survey measures several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.

BVRMC was also acknowledged as an organization where employees find purpose and value in their everyday work by being awarded the Meaningfulness Specialty Award.

“Top Workplaces is more than just recognition,” said Doug Claffey, CEO of Energage. “Our research shows organizations that earn the award attract better talent, experience lower turnover, and are better equipped to deliver bottom-line results. Their leaders prioritize and carefully craft a healthy workplace culture that supports employee engagement.”

“At BVRMC we believe that every employee, clinical and non-clinical, are vital to the patient experience. We have excellent employees committed to creating a positive working environment,” says BVRMC CEO Rob Colerick.

BVRMC implements continual employee education on creating a positive environment for patients and co-workers. They also reward positive employee relations with a variety of ways for employees to recognize the everyday great things their co-workers are doing.

“When we focus on creating a positive culture for employees, ultimately our patients also reap the benefits of receiving care by people that enjoy what they do and find purpose in the everyday work they do,” explains Rob Colerick.

“Becoming a Top Workplace isn’t something organizations can buy,” Claffey said. “It’s an achievement organizations have worked for and a distinction that gives them a competitive advantage. It’s a big deal.”
