First Embrace Obstetrics
November 17 was World Prematurity Day to promote awareness to help prevent premature births. Todd and Kayla Wingert delivered Jet 15 weeks early at BVRMC. They say, “We are so thankful for everyone at BVRMC that worked so hard for our family. Jet would not be here today if it were not for them!”
According to the March of Dimes Foundation, each year more than half a million babies are born too soon in the United States. Our country’s premature birth rate has risen by 36 percent over the last 25 years. That’s serious cause for concern. Babies born just a few weeks early are at risk of severe health problems and lifelong disabilities. Premature birth is the number 1 killer of newborns.
Jet, his parents, and big sister Vienna, recently got to reunite with the BVRMC First Embrace Obstetrics unit.
